About the pages

I am Kari Lindstedt, information specialist and Master of Science, amateur photographer. I was born in 1980.

On this website I present the district of Hermanni, located in the eastern inner city of Helsinki. The website contains photographs I have taken myself and related information, including the history of the area. I want to do my part to record Hermanni and its cultural history.

The photos are taken from 2016 onwards. Most of the photos were taken with a Canon 6D system camera. In addition, some pictures were taken with a Canon Powershot G9X digital camera and Konica C35 EF and Nikon AF 3 film cameras. I have been living in Hermanni since 2015. The photos and other content on this site are created on an amateur basis and I do not benefit financially from this.

The site will be gradually completed. I started working on this page in March 2018.

An article written by Katja Martelius about the site and its creator Aikalaishistoriaa Helsingin Hermannista appeared in the issue 1/2024 of Työeläke magazine.

Hi from Fenixinrinne 8; this site was a complete surprise when I was looking for some information about the area and the house itself, having lived with my family in the ”original” house since its completion. However, that jewellery ring ”disappeared” one night, a few years ago, due to a noisy opposition from a neighbouring house and we suspect sabotage :-). Thanks for the great pictures and this page.

Glad you found the site now! I made the Fenixirinte house page only last autumn. I hadn't noticed the disappearance of the wreath.
