Veterinary Park is a small park along Veterinary Avenue, Windmill Avenue and Plaza Avenue. The name of the park is a reminder of the history of the area, which was formerly home to the University of Helsinki's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. The park is somewhat hidden and rather underused, perhaps because of the nearby Hermannin Park. The park houses the artwork Lantern, completed in 2011 and designed by visual artist Hilda Kozári and interior architect Esa [...]

Nylander Park is located next to the Hämeentie bridge, the Hermann embankment and the Hermann skate park. Nylander Park also extends to the Kumpula side, on the north-east side of Jyrängöntien. The Kumpulanpuro stream flows through the park in a ditch at the edge of the park and continues in a series of drums under Hermann's Beach Road towards Toukola Beach Park and the sea. The western edge of the park is lined with rows of stately aspen trees. The park was in turmoil between 2022 and 2024 due to the Kalasatama to Pasila tramway project. The Hermann embankment and [...]
Pearl Park
Helminpuisto is located in the middle of the courtyards of the apartment buildings of Violankatu, Helminkatu and Hämeentie. The park has a sandy field, grassy areas and a few benches. The site of the present Helminpuisto was once occupied by Villa Solo with its courtyard buildings at Hämeentie 93. According to Kari Varvikko's book 'Puutalojen Hermanni', apartments with a sea view were rented from the villa to summer residents. When the neighbouring plots became fully built up, Solo's stateliness disappeared and it became an ordinary tenement. [...]

Agroksenmäki Park
Agroksenmäki is a park and rocky area between Hermann's Rantatie and Sörnäistenkatu and near Tukkutori. Agroksenmäki is a good vantage point with a good view of the Old Town Bay, for example. See also Agroksenmäki's vaulted cellar. According to Kaija Hackzell and Kirsti Toppar in Oihonnankatu Kumpulantielle - Helsinki's Old Quarters 4, it was once possible to throw a stone into the water from Agroksenmäki because the sea was so close. Hermann's Beach [...]
Violet Park has grassy areas, a rocky outcrop, a sand pitch, a local sports ground and a temporary kindergarten. The park is located in the north-eastern part of Hermann, close to the Hermann waterfront road and Vellamonokatu. The temporary pavilion day nursery in Violan Park was built on the Violan Park sports field. The construction of the kindergarten started in autumn 2018 and it opened in early March 2019. The construction of the kindergarten and the building site were heavily contested and the neighbourhood appealed to the Administrative Court. It is a temporary kindergarten for more than 100 children. The Violet Park was found [...]
The small park at the intersection of Vellamonkatu and Haukilahdenkatu is a riot of colour, especially when it's getting dark. The park is crossed by a footpath, which serves as a beautiful oak path. Maples and birches grow in the park. In 2008-2009, the Helsinki City Transport Authority (HKL) planned a large underground tram depot in Vallila. The second ramp (exit) of the cave would have been at the intersection of Haukilahdenkatu and Vellamonkatu, where the park is located. Below is VK Group's observation photo of the ramp. The project received a lot of [...]

The Allotrian Park runs along the edge of Hämeentie. In winter, a hill is lowered from the park's hilly cliffs. The houses at Rialtonkuja 6 and Allotriankuja 4 are located on the edge of the park. The park takes its name from the Allotria cinema, which used to be located at Hämeentie 68, the corner of Hämeentie and Mäkelänkatu, where the Kapsäkki music theatre and BistroK restaurant are now located. In autumn 2015, the City of Helsinki announced that it would take care of the elm trees growing in the park. [...]
Dating back to the 19th century, Hermann Park consists of a play park, lawns and seating areas, and a community garden. The park was restored in 2016 and the partially contaminated soil was peeled away. The Hermann Park is located between South Hermann and Sörnäinen Prison. The park is bordered to the south by Eläinlääkärinkatu, to the east and to the north by the Sörnäinen prison area. Until around the turn of the millennium, the Hermanninpuisto area was used by the prison as a recreational and vegetation area until it was restored [...]
