The curved Helminkatu runs a few hundred metres from Hämeenti to Viola Street. Inside the quarter-circle is the lush Helminpuisto park.

Helminpuisto is located in the middle of the courtyards of the apartment buildings of Violankatu, Helminkatu and Hämeentie. The park has a sandy field, grassy areas and a few benches. The site of the present Helminpuisto was once occupied by Villa Solo with its courtyard buildings at Hämeentie 93. According to Kari Varvikko's book 'Puutalojen Hermanni', apartments with a sea view were rented from the villa to summer residents. Helminkatu 8

The four-storey house at Helminkatu 8, built in 1960, was designed by Else Aropaltio.The 41-apartment building has one and two-bedroom apartments. The buildings designed by Aropalttio (1914-2008) were characterised by a strong sense of aesthetics. Violankatu 6 on valmistunut 1957 ja sen ovat piirtäneet Eino Suhonen ja Esko Hyvärinen. Talo sijaitsee Violankadun, Helminkadun ja Vellamonkadun kulmauksessa. Violankatu 4, built by the War Victims, was completed in 1955. The building was designed by T. Anttila and Veli A. Klami. The house is located at the corner of Violankatu and Helminkatu. Helminkatu 6

Helminkatu 4

On Helminkatu, which forms a quarter circle, there are a few small apartment buildings. The four-storey building at Helminkatu 4, built in 1956, was designed by Lindroos Architects. The house, located next to Helminpuisto, has a tall brick chimney. The house belongs to block 657. The block was featured in Helsingin Sanomat on 12 June 1989 in a series of articles by Kaija Hackzell and Kirsti Toppar on city blocks.
