Ristikkopuisto is a small park at the corner of Ristikkokatu and Eläinlääkärinkatu. At the edge of the park is the old wooden house at Eläinlääkärinkatu 4 and the entrance to the Helsinki Prison area. On 22 July 2006 Helsingin Sanomat reported on the renovation of the park under the headline "Two parks to be renovated in Helsinki Hermann".

As Oy Helsingin Tervapääskynen is located at Eläinlääkärinkatu 5, a building designed by Helamaa and Pulkkinen Architects and completed in 2012. Eläinlääkärinkatu 4:n puutalo oli aikaisemmin vankilahenkilökunnan asuinkäytössä, mutta Senaattikiinteistöt on myynyt sen yksityisomistukseen. Talo on valmistunut vuonna 1921 ja sen on suunnitellut Onni Tarjanne. Talon vieressä sijaitsee Helsingin vankilan portti, Hermanninpuisto sekä pieni Ristikkopuisto. At Eläinlääkärinkatu 7, a seven-storey building completed in 2014, As. Oy Helsingin Linnunrata. Designed by architects Hannunkari & Mäkipaja Oy and built by YIT, the two-storey property has seven floors. The top floor apartments have roof terraces with views. Dating back to the 19th century, Hermann Park consists of a play park, lawns and seating areas, and a community garden. The park was restored in 2016 and the partially contaminated soil was peeled away. The Hermann Park is located between South Hermann and Sörnäinen Prison.
